"Let's Make the City More Beautiful!" — KSUAE and the Old City Prefecture Develop Cooperation

On February 4, 2025, a working meeting was held between representatives of the Old City Prefecture of the Executive Committee of the City of Kazan and students and teachers of the KSUAE Institute of Architecture and Design.

Students and teachers will work on developing projects for the improvement of interesting and at the same time complex Kazan courtyards and park areas. In addition, 2nd-year students under the guidance of teachers will work on the concept of improving one of the shortest streets in Kazan - Kunche St., where, perhaps, a small tourist Eastern Bazaar will be located in the future. In terms of design, the prefect paid special attention to the reconstruction of some Kazan wooden architecture objects. These objects do not currently have a protected status, but are valuable as buildings that form the historical environment of the city. Projects for these buildings as part of the course design will be undertaken by 4th-year architects-restorers. As noted by the rector of KSUAE R.K. Nizamov, the students have a large and at the same time interesting and useful project work, the implementation of which in the future will make our city even more beautiful.

"Strength Test": a master class for Kazan schoolchildren was held at the KSUAE "Strength" academic center

On February 1, 2025, a master class "Strength Test" was held at the KSUAE Scientific and Educational Center "Strength". The participants were students from grades 8-11 of Kazan schools.

Associate Professor of the Department of Metal Structures and Testing of Structures, Candidate of Technical Sciences Gimranov Linur gave an introductory lecture and clearly demonstrated the process of calculating the strength of a structure using the example of "spaghetti". The schoolchildren took part in the creation of "pasta" structures and testing their strength with great interest. As a result, one of the bridges withstood a weight equal to 1 laptop, 3 phones and 1 glass of water.

A master class for schoolchildren on making gypsum flowerpots at the KSUAE "Technologies" academic center

On January 30, 2025, a master class on making gypsum flowerpots was held at the KSUAE "Technologies" scientific and educational center. The participants were students from grades 10-11 of Kazan schools.

The staff of the "Technologies" academic center gave an introductory lecture on gypsum binders, and then demonstrated the process of creating flowerpots step by step. The event turned out to be educational and cozy. The participants were interested in the educational process, which once again confirms the interest of the younger generation in construction. And home decorations in the form of gypsum flowerpots will add elegance and sophistication to the interior.

KSUAE students became winners and laureates of the award "Student of the Year"

KSUAE students were awarded high prizes at the 20th anniversary republican award "Student of the Year", which is held with the support of the Ministry of Youth and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In the nomination "Startup of the Year", the winner was Alina Safina, a student of the Institute of Construction (supervised by Associate Professor of the Department of TSP R.Kh. Mukhametrahimov). She presented an innovative project "Small architectural forms using 3D printing", aimed at creating small architectural forms using modern technologies.

In the nomination "Intellect of the Year", two awards were got by students of KSUAE. The winner of the nomination was Maria Chukhlova, Institute of Construction Technologies and Engineering-Ecological Systems (supervised by Associate Professor of the Department of Heating and Ventilation Yu.R. Kareeva), and the laureate was Daniil Vybornov (supervised by Head of the Department of Transport E.A. Vdovin), Institute of Transport Structures. Students conduct their research in world-class scientific and educational centers, which allows them to organize complex experiments and demonstrate strong results.

The jubilee award "Student of the Year" has been held for 20 years, uniting the most talented and proactive students of the Republic of Tatarstan. The organizer is the League of Students of the Republic of Tatarstan.
