International students of the KSUAE Russian language course study the history of Russia and Tatarstan

KSUAE international students study and practice Russian not only in the classroom, but also outside the university, and study the history of Russia, Tatarstan and its capital, Kazan, during cultural and educational excursions. As part of the program of social and cultural adaptation and integration of foreign students, the Center for Pre-University Training of Foreigners organized excursions for foreign students of the preparatory course of the Russian language to the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Kazan Kremlin.

In the National Museum, students from Turkey, Tunisia, Mauritania, Ecuador, Peru, Ghana, Madagascar, Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, and Chad got acquainted with the main stages of the history of Tatarstan and Kazan, from ancient times to the present, through exhibitions dedicated to significant events and the destinies of people. During the excursion, the students received a lot of useful knowledge about the culture, history and life of the peoples of Tatarstan. The large-scale complex historical exhibition occupies impressive areas and is based on the rich multidisciplinary museum collections of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the largest regional museum. During the excursion, the students actively learned and practiced new Russian vocabulary, including the names of historical exhibits, household items and culture. They were assisted in this by their teachers of Russian as a Foreign Language.

After visiting the museum, the group took a sightseeing tour of the Kazan Kremlin, briefly familiarizing themselves with all the objects on the territory of the UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Spasskaya Tower, the Kul Sharif Mosque, the Annunciation Cathedral, the residence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan (the Governor's Palace) and the symbol of Kazan - the famous "leaning" Syuyumbike Tower, and also visited the observation site with a beautiful view of the city.

The students really enjoyed the excursion, they received vivid impressions from visiting the museum and the Kremlin, sharing them the next day during classes in the classroom. Getting to know the history, culture, and traditions of the peoples living in Russia and Tatarstan will allow foreign students of the preparatory course of the Russian language to quickly adapt to everyday life in our country.
