Participants of the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Heritage in Digital Form!" visited KSUAE

On September 21, 2022, the All-Russian scientific and practical conference on topical issues of digitalization of cultural heritage "Heritage in digital form!" was held at the Kazan EXPO International Exhibition Center as part of the Kazan Digital Week 2021 International Forum.

There were discussed the issues of BIM design and modeling technologies in the restoration, automation and digitization of public services in the field of state protection of cultural heritage sites. The conference was attended by more than 100 participants, specialists from state bodies for the protection of cultural heritage sites, universities, scientific and design organizations, archaeologists and certified experts from 35 regions of the country. The report “The experience of creating digital twins of cultural heritage objects” was made at the conference by the head of the Department of Architecture of the Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering A.O. Popov. The conference was attended by Vice-Rector for Research Activities of the Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering E.A. Vdovin, Head of the Research Department M.I. Khaliullin. On September 22, 2022, the participants of the All-Russian scientific and practical conference on topical issues of digitalization of cultural heritage "Heritage in digital!" visited Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Participants of the conference "Heritage in digital!" met with the rector of KSUAE R.K. Nizamov. At the meeting, interest was expressed in the interaction of regional state bodies for the protection of cultural heritage objects with KSUAE in the field of personnel training, the participation of the university in solving practical problems of the industry. The guests noted the high level of equipment of the centers, the modern original appearance of the buildings and interiors of KSUAE, the wide opportunities for conducting training sessions and scientific research.

Experts of the XXXI International Competition gave lectures on religious architecture at KSUAE

At the Center for Architectural Restoration of KSUAE "Heritage" Moscow colleagues - experts of the XXXI International Competition-Exposition of Graduate Qualification Works in Architecture, Design and Art gave lectures on religious architecture.

A lecture on the lost monuments of St. Petersburg was delivered by Professor of the Moscow Architectural Institute Alexander Makarov. Starting with poems about the city, he demonstrated rare historical materials that became a valuable addition to the course "History of Russian and Foreign Architecture" delivered at KSUAE, and made it possible to feel the elusive old spirit of the northern capital.

Further, his colleague at the Moscow Architectural Institute, laureate of the State Prize, Dmitry Pshenichnikov, spoke about his design practice. It was about the design of temple architecture, the story about the implemented project of the Church of All Saints in Strasbourg aroused great interest.

Teachers and students asked questions, discovering the theme of modern religious architecture.

Within the XXXI International Competition-Exposition of Graduate Qualification Works in Architecture, Design and Art, the conference in the section "Science and Universities" was held at KSUAE

On September 21, 2022, within the XXXI International Competition of Graduate Qualification Works in Architecture, Design and Art, the scientific and practical conference was held at KSUAE: “Science and Universities. Architectural and construction education. Digitalization in architecture and construction (moderated by Vice-Rector for Education of KSUAE Ilfak Vildanov). The conference was held in the scientific, educational and design center of KSUAE "Urban Planning".

At the meeting, participating universities discussed topical issues of architectural and construction education, the introduction of digital technologies in educational and design processes, and discussed many issues that concern the university community today.

The KSUAE and the Tabriz Islamic Art University (Iran) signed a Memorandum of understanding

On September 21, 2022, an official delegation from the Tabriz Islamic Art University  (Iran) headed by Rector Prof. Mohammadali Keynejad and Head of Presidential Office, Public Relations &International Affairs Dr Farhad Akhoundi.

Tabriz Islamic Art University was established in 1999 by the Rector Prof. Mohammadali Keynejad, and is one of the best art universities in Iran. The university specializes in the field of art, architecture, urban planning, preservation of cultural heritage, design, multimedia. The Tabriz Islamic Art University became the first and only university in Iran that opened the academic course on the restoration of architectural heritage. An important mission of the university is the preservation and restoration of historical monuments of the city of Tabriz.

The acquaintance of KSUAE and the Tabriz Islamic Art University took place in 2021 as part of the European Erasmus + program, the SAH project "Capacity Building in the field of sustainability of architectural heritage" in order to develop new courses and modules on the subject of the project.Currently, both universities have expressed their desire to continue close cooperation between the two universities.

During the visit the guests met with the KSUAE Rector Prof. Rashit Nizamov and Vice Rector for education Ilfak Vildanov, as well as with the Head of the International Relations Olga Poroshenko. Both sides exchanged words of welcome and expressed their mutual desire to actively cooperate in the field of common interests.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the universities. The memorandum is aimed at developing academic mobility between universities, holding joint events, developing joint educational programs in the field of architecture, restoration and preservation of architectural and cultural heritage and urban studies.

Mr Alibeman Ekbali Zarch, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan, also took part in the meeting.

During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the scientific and educational centers and workshops of KSUAE like "Heritage", "BFFT.space", "Archiphysics", with the artistic training of our students at the Department of Fine Arts, and also visited the XXXI International Competition-Exposition of Graduate Qualification Works in Architecture, Design and Art  which takes place at KSUAE on September 19-24, 2022.
