40 KSUAE students are undergoing free training in the vocational profession of “Reinforcement Worker, 2nd category”

KSUAE won a grant competition to implement the "Second-Grade Reinforcer" vocational training program. Forty first- and second-year students began classes on April 6, 2026. Thanks to the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science (in accordance with a Russian Government decree), course participants are learning the profession completely free of charge—an excellent opportunity to gain a sought-after vocational specialty, as well as additional competencies that will help them in their future professional development. The first lecture was held at the "Forum" Multifunctional Center.

Students master the theoretical component in classroom lessons. Practical skills are honed by assembling reinforcement cages according to drawings. Students work with rebar tying tools, assemble the components of the future cage, and assemble them into a single structure. All participants demonstrate a high level of interest—they strive not only to master the technological process but also to learn how to do it quickly, competently, and accurately. Under the guidance of supervisors, students work in teams on practical assignments. This helps achieve another important goal: developing personal qualities. Students learn to work in a team, combine their knowledge and skills with the experience of their colleagues, and build positive communication within a new team. It's worth noting that KSUACE has been training reinforcement workers for several years now. Since 2023, 160 members of student construction teams have completed training in this in-demand profession.

The 77th International Conference on "Scientific and Methodological Problems of Teaching at a Construction University" has opened at KSUAE

On April 6, 2026, the 77th International Scientific Conference "Sociotechnical Construction" (77 ISC) opened at KSUAE. The conference included a session on "Scientific and Methodological Issues of Teaching Disciplines at a Construction University".
Presentations were made by faculty from KSUAE and other Kazan universities, graduate students, and undergraduate and graduate students from KSUAE. Attractive presentations were made by student A.A. Blokhina (25PM01 group) on the motivations for choosing a career at a construction university. Questions from conference participants focused on the specific motivations of young people when choosing various programs of study at KSUAE and the role of career guidance in this process.
Graduate students presented papers on relevant aspects of their dissertation research. A lively discussion among the section participants followed presentations by L.A. Muratshina on the development of a new model of student self-government at the university, and I.A. Arakcheeva on the problem of teaching aesthetic culture as a component of a civil engineer's professional identity.
A report by Associate Professor I.R. Feoktistova of the V.G. Timiryasov University of Management and Engineering (KIU) on project-based work as the foundation of the professional training of future civil engineers also generated interest among the audience.
All participants noted the importance of the project component in the educational process, and Associate Professors V.P. Kozlov and A.V. Morozov of the Department of Professional Training, Pedagogy, and Sociology at KSUAE shared their experience in organizing project-based work using the example of teaching the new discipline "Service Learning."
Among the best presentations, we also highlight the report by Associate Professor E.N. Tarasova's "Developing Soft Skills in Students of a Technical University in Humanities Classes." Many participants were concerned about the organization of the educational process in the context of digital transformation and the development of artificial intelligence. The section meeting provided an opportunity to discuss pedagogical issues related to student preparation and faculty work organization at KSUAE.

A project by KSUAE architecture students won first award in a prestigious international competition in Japan

On March 25, 2026, the results of the prestigious international competition for ideas to develop the "Museum Road" were announced in Kobe, Japan. Both students and professional architects were invited to participate.

In the first round, a team of architecture students consisting of Ksenia Egorova (fourth year), Daria Shel (fifth year), and Elena Solnyshkova (third year), under the guidance of professors Ilnar and Rezeda Akhtyamova, successfully completed the competition and advanced to the final round, among seven teams competing out of 122 applications submitted by participants from around the world.

In the second round of presentations in Japan, the students submitted their proposal, which centers on transforming the transit zone between museums into an independent immersive environment. The team proposed reimagining the visitor's journey, transforming it into a "Soundscape," where the acoustic experience becomes the primary factor in cognition.

Following the review, the KSUAE project was awarded FIRST PLACE, receiving the highest praise from the international jury: - "The project, awarded the Grand Prix as the most creative, attracted attention not only with its striking visual expression but also with its unique concept for the development of the urban environment. The project offers a vibrant visual space where one can experience and hear the true 'sounds' of the city. This innovative idea was highly praised by the jury as a solution capable of expanding the cultural potential of Museum Road and Kobe as a whole, creating new value for the city." - "The project demonstrated an outstanding level of creativity, which was the main criterion of the competition. The jury praised the unprecedented concept of 'experiencing roads through sound' and the inspiring vision of the future it offers for Museum Road!"

Second award was shared by large-scale collaborations between professional firms (ALTEMY Inc., Fumi Aso) and leading Japanese universities (the universities of Tokyo, Kyoto, and others). Prizes also include leaders of Japanese students, independent architects, and large design firms such as FISH+ARCHITECTS.

In 2026, the Kobe administration plans to incorporate these ideas into the city's development by engaging the winning architects as experts for this Agreement. The winners received generous prizes: 1,000,000 yen for first place, 500,000 yen for second place, and 100,000 yen for the top three places.

Congratulations to Ksenia, Daria, and Elena and their leaders on such a significant income!

KSUAE International students participated in the intellectual game "What? Where? When?" — Cultured Cat!

International students participated in the inter-university intellectual game "Cultural Cat," based on the intellectual game "What? Where? When?". The event was organized by the Committee for Activities with International Students of the Tatarstan Students' League.
International students from near and far abroad from various Kazan universities participated in the game. The KSUAE team included students from Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, and Zimbabwe. The participants had to demonstrate their erudition, logical thinking, and team spirit by answering questions about Russian culture, literature, traditions, and national cuisine. The game was not only an intellectual challenge but also a fascinating immersion into Russia's rich cultural heritage. For international students, participating in this event was a particularly valuable experience: it allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the country's cultural characteristics, broaden their horizons, and strengthen intercultural interaction. The event took place in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere, bringing together students from different universities and countries. At the conclusion of the game, all participants were awarded Certificates of Participation.
