Winners of the International competition of projects of the Tatar theater at KSUAE

On February 17, 2022, the winners of the international competition for the project of the future theater named after. G. Kamala.

In total, 537 participants registered for the contest, as a result, applications from 26 consortiums and 13 individual contestants from 14 countries were considered. 8 consortiums with the participation of Kazan and foreign architects made it to the final:

- "East Wind": KSUAE, Da! Architects, Dialog Urban Planning;

- Novikov Architectural Practice from Kazan, Borgos Pieper from Barcelona and Theater Projects from London;

- Metropolis from Moscow, Coop Himmelb(l)au from Vienna and Myriad Group from Kazan;

- Bureau Wowhaus from Moscow, Kengo Kuma & Associates from Tokyo, Werner Sobek from Stuttgart and "PTM architect Bakulin German Alekseevich" from Kazan;

- TPO Pride, Zaha Hadid Architects, Atelier Ten and Theater Projects;

- Theater Laboratory: Rozhdestvenka Bureau and Buro Smart;

- Bespoke and Asif Khan Studio;

- Megabudka, FORM Bureau and ZARF architects.

The consortium "East Wind" under the leadership of KSUAE was among the 8 finalists of the international open competition of architectural concepts for the new building of the G. Kamal Theater. KSUAE is represented by architects - TIArch studio of teachers Ilnar and Rezeda Akhtyamov. The second member of the consortium is the Chinese bureau DA! Architects (Shanghai, China), co-founded by Anna Andronova, graduate of KSUAE 2016, winner of many international architectural competitions.

The meeting at KSUAE was interesting and useful, the students asked many questions about the projects and received a lot of valuable advice from professional architects. Managing Partner, Deputy General Director of Metropolis (Moscow) Mukhamed Nasser invited KSUAE students for an internship.

Our Architecture students among the owners of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation

The Grant of the President of the Russian Federation is granted to persons who have shown outstanding abilities and have shown high achievements in a certain field of activity, including the field of arts and sports, being students of professional educational organizations, educational organizations of higher education, scientific organizations in training programs for mid-level specialists, bachelor courses, specialist's programs and master courses and studying at the expense of the federal and national budget funds. 

A 1st year undergraduate student Adelina Khabibullina received this grant for her successful participation in the All-Russian Olympiad in World Artistic Culture.

A 1st year master student Anna Guseva received a grant based on the results of international architectural competitions and publications Scopus, VAK and RSCI, under the guidance of teachers-architects of KSUAE I.I. and R.Kh. Akhtyamovs.

No more than 1200 grants of the President of the Russian Federation are provided annually to undergraduate and specialist students and no more than 750 grants to graduate students.

Welcome to our new Academic and Research Centers "Heritage" and "Archi-physics"

On February 8, 2022, at KSUAE two new Academic and Research Centers "Heritage" and "Archi-physics" opened their doors. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Kazan city authorities visited our University and the new centers.

The Center for Architectural Restoration "Heritage" was organized to train personnel and provide scientific and methodological support for objects of restoration and preservation of historical heritage. Training is based on both traditional and innovative technologies of architectural restoration, including the use of digital methods and equipment.

The three-level space of the Center houses a multifunctional hall, a design workshop, a library of scientific and methodological literature on restoration, a laboratory for complex research, and a restoration workshop. In the laboratory for complex research the innovative methods of work using digital equipment are introduced: 3D laser scanning, online monitoring of parameters of the physical state of objects using radio and Internet data transmission systems in remote access. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan also visited the workshop of restoration technologies. Here, practical work is carried out with various restoration materials: wood, metal, stone, etc.

In the Center "Archi-physics" the guests got acquainted with the research of microclimate and environment parameters, these are wind loads and the movement of wind flows, temperature and humidity parameters, illumination and insolation, the transmittance of translucent structures, the thermophysical properties of enclosing structures, and also visited the classrooms, the laboratory of architectural physics and the laboratory of acoustics.

At the collegium of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan President of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov noted in his speech: “Today we really liked the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering: new centers, laboratories, they are not only for education, they could be a tool, a mechanism for involving our students in conducting some kind of research for our design and construction companies.”

Congratulations of the KSUAE Rector Rashit Nizamov with Russian Science Day!

Dear teachers, staff, graduate students and undergraduates!

From the administration of the University, please accept my congratulations on the Day of Russian Science!

The results of 2021, declared the Year of Science and Technology, once again demonstrated that KSUAE is one of the leading industrial scientific and educational centers of our country. The team of university scientists creates popular scientific, technical and innovative developments based on close cooperation with sector authorities and industry.

In 2021, we established and solemnly opened with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov such Research and Educational Centers as "Urban Planning', "Digital","Design' and "ArchTEP". Today, on the Day of Russian Science, 2 new Research and Education Centers are opening: for Restoration and Architectural Heritage "Miras"  and "Archi-Physics".

In 2021, as part of the implementation of the National Projects and Strategic Initiatives, university scientists under economic agreements and government contracts carried out many research and development projects relevant to the Republic of Tatarstan, most of which are under implementation.

In 2021 7 scientific conferences were held at KSUAE, incl. those ones with publications in international databases Scopus / Web of Science; 92 patent applications were submitted, 21 patents were received and 4 license agreements were concluded.

KSUAE holds a competition for reimbursement of tuition fees for graduate students of KSUAE and launched the program "New KSUAE Pleiad of Doctors of Science ".

Undoubtedly, our well-coordinated, intensive and creative work will ensure the achievement of the ambitious goals and objectives facing the university staff in 2022, declared the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated December 30, 2021 No. 745 and the Year of Digitalization in the Republic of Tatarstan in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan dated October 08, 2021 No. UP-800.

I wish the University staff health, happiness, prosperity, new scientific victories and achievements on the Day of Russian Science!
