KSUAE hosted the UTEST COMPANY, leading manufacturer of test equipment

On the basis of our Institute of Transport Structures (ITS) in the scientific and educational center "Roads" a presentation of the UTEST company was held on the topic "Laboratory equipment UTEST / CFU for testing road and concrete structures."

The event was organized jointly with the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Tatarstan and State Public Institution "Glavtatdortrans" with the direct participation of UTEST (Great Britain / Turkey).

UTEST is a British-Turkish company that is a leading manufacturer and supplier of testing equipment for asphalt concrete, bitumen, concrete, cement, soil and aggregates used in road and civil construction in Turkey and over 80 countries.

The event was attended by representatives of the customer of the Republic of Tatarstan - GKU "Glavtatdortrans", as well as 21 contractors of the road industry and quality control in the field of road construction.

The presentation was made by Mark Selzhdi, Managing Director of UTEST.

Mark Selzhdi presented modern testing and research equipment for determining the properties of road building materials: bitumen, crushed stone, soil, cement concrete and asphalt concrete, including those designed according to the Superpave methodology, as well as equipment that combines express methods for determining the life of pavements highways implemented in a single measuring complex.

The presented material gave the participants an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the products of UTEST at a high technical level, as well as improve their qualifications in terms of methods for diagnosing and predicting the properties of the main road-building materials in our Republic - asphalt concrete, materials for road pavements and subgrade soils.

At the end of the seminar, the participants visited the research and educational centers of our University. The guests highly appreciated the material and technical equipment of the centers and an integrated approach to their implementation, and also wished success in creating new scientific and educational spaces.

Mark Selzhdi expressed his readiness for further personal participation in interaction with KSUAE in the field of scientific and educational activities.

Our students took educational practice in the KSUAE sports camp "Mesha"

So the sessions in the sports and recreation camp "Mesha", where the students combined educational practice with rest, have ended. In these sessions, students of the Institute of Transport Structures and the Institute of Construction got a charge of vivacity, health and practical professional skills.

The practice took place under the guidance of experienced teachers of the Department of Highways, Bridges and Tunnels. 

After the practical exercises, the students took part in cultural and sports and recreational activities, such as discos, watching films, sports days in volleyball, basketball, football and other sports, and much more. At the end of the sessions the winners and prize-winners of the competition were announced and awarded.

On July 8, 2021 our University organized a workshop for the consortium partners of the international project 618843-EPP-1-2020-1-IT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP "Capacity Building in Sustainablity for Architectural Heritage" (SAH) within the framework of the Erasmus + programme. The project started this January and will last 3 years.

The headliner of the workshop was a working group of our University. The seminar was attended by representatives of the University of L'Aquila, Italy (project coordinator), Germany, Greece, Armenia, Iran (Tehran and Tabriz) and Russia (Kazan, Moscow, Samara, Arkhangelsk).

The seminar was devoted to the implementation of the second working package of the project "Development: Institutionalization and approbation of BSc amd MSc in Russia, Armenia and Iran". Its leaders are Kazan University of Architecture and Engineering (KSUAE) together with the National Technical University of Athens (Greece). The functions of the leaders of this package include: coordination of work on the development of new modules and disciplines for curricula in participating universities, advanced training of teaching staff of participating universities in European universities with the invitation of international experts, publication of methodological textbooks for new modules, creation networks of resource scientific and educational centers in universities of Russia, Armenia and Iran and monitoring of the work of international student teams during the implementation of the project.

In the first half of the workshop the KSUAE team outlined the goals and objectives of this work package, focusing on the importance of comparing the tasks with the qualifications and potential of the project team members, as well as calculating the administrative and resource support of the project activities. In the second part of the workshop, the KSUAE team  together with Professor A. Tozzi (University of L'Aquila, Italy) conducted a methodological training for partners from Russia and Armenia in the field of ensuring the European quality of education in order to increase the effectiveness of the teaching staff on the development of new curricula and courses. The meeting was held online.
