 Professor Bertocci is a practicing architect in the field of restoration and renovation of architectural heritage objects in many countries, honorary UNESCO expert, Professor of the Department of Architecture, (University of Florence, Italy), head of research lab "Digital technologies in architecture and restoration" of the University of Florence, supervisor of joint international projects of the faculty of Architecture of Florence University and Kazan State University of architecture and Engineering since 2009 based on the cooperation Agreement between the universities.

Throughout the entire period of cooperation, Prof. Bertocci initiated and participant in many joint activities: conferences, workshops, and lectures.

Professor Luigi Fiumara, Italian architect, Secretary Of IFMA International Forum of Man and Architecture, Holland, member of Swiss architects Association, honorary Professor of a number of Russian (Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Smolensk, etc.) and CIS (Kiev, Riga, Minsk, etc.) architectural universities, a leader in promoting an organic approach in architectural activities, visited KSUAE.

Series of short lectures, workshops and colloquiums took place in the architectural and educational space "BFFT.space", in children's architectural and design school "DASHKA", and in classrooms of KSUAE School of architecture and design

Ed Baker

 Ed Baker, the head of the Broadway Malyan architectural bureau (Singapore), gave an open lecture at BFFT.space of KSUAE.

He came to Kazan to participate in the international conference MES2017 - XI International scientific and practical conference "Modern engineering systems in health architecture" on  October 6, 2017.

Ed Baker has extensive experience designing clinics of the future: he designed the National Heart Centre and the Novena Clinic in Singapore.

A lecture by the foreign guest was dedicated to global trends in urban design and planning on specific international examples from Asia, Africa and North America.

Vicente Guayart delivered an inspiring speech for architects in “BFFT.space” of KSUAE.

On June 15, 2017, the architect Vicente Guayart, a former chief architect of Barcelona, one of the founders of the famous architectural school iAAc in Barcelona, told the students of KSUAE and numerous guests about his work.

 

His bold views, decisive actions, completed projects, teaching activities can inspire young specialists for professional development.

Based on his own experience, Vicente spoke about the principles he adheres to, that cities should be primarily focused on people, on pedestrian connections. During his tenure as a chief architect, with the support of the mayor of the city of Barcelona, he made significant changes in urban planning of the city.

Moreover, Vicente Guayart told about his great attention to prototyping while his pedagogical experience in laboratories of mixed disciplines.

The 5th International Conference "Cultural Heritage in the XXI Century" completed its work at KSUAE. Its honoured participant was UNESCO-ICOMOS expert Alkiviadis Prepis. On April 3-7, 2017, in architectural and educational space “BFFT.space” of KSUAE, V International Scientific and Practical Conference "Cultural Heritage in the XXI Century: Preservation, Use, Popularization" took place.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan state university of architecture and engineering,   Tatarstan republic division of All-Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments and the interuniversity public youth movement "Red Shield".

The plenary session was chaired by the head of the Department of Reconstruction, Restoration of the Architectural Heritage of KSUAE, Doctor of Architecture Galina Nadyrova. The speakers presented their reports on the most topical issues.   UNESCO expert, professor of the Thrace University of Democritus (Greece), UNESCO-ICOMOS expert Alkiviadis Prepis introduced a very informative and beautifully illustrated presentation on the topic "Preservation and sustainable development of traditional settlements in the context of tourism development and employment promotion: values yesterday, today and tomorrow" about the experience of revitalizing empty buildings in Greece.

The report of our colleague from Poland, professor, doctor of architecture, head of the Department of Architecture of Local Cultures of Bialystok university of technology Ezhi Ustinovich on history and modern trends in church Orthodox architecture in Poland “New-Old Gardzienice. Prospective archaization” was also listened with great interest.
