KSUAE took part in the panel session "BUSINESS Online"
Continuing its series of roundtable discussions on Kazan's developing regions, BUSINESS Online examined one of the most iconic urban development projects of recent decades. As is well known, the main gateway to Kazan today is Universiade Avenue: an outbound highway that takes you to the city limits in 8 minutes and the airport in 25
minutes.
The roundtable discussion was attended by Yulia A. Zakirova, Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Rural Settlement Planning, PhD in Architecture, and Associate Professor. Yulia A. Zakirova graduated from Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering in 2005, a student of the renowned urban planner, Head of the Department from 1990 to 2025, Honored Architect of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Dembich, and one of the developers of the General Plan for the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.
The interchange, built over 10 years ago for the 2013 Universiade, now seems an integral part of the city. The transport corridor, incorporated into the 1969 master plan, enabled high-speed travel in this part of the city. Today, this "gateway to prestige" is on the cusp of change. How the avenue will transform into a full-fledged showcase for Kazan was discussed at the panel session.
