KSUAE ITS students visited the reinforced concrete products plant of Kazmetrostroy JSC
As part of their educational program, students from the KSUAE Institute of Transport Constructions visited the precast concrete plant of JSC Kazmetrostroy. The purpose of the on-site workshop was to familiarize them with modern technologies for the production of building structures and the organization of production processes at an industrial enterprise.
The head of the reinforcement shop provided a detailed explanation of the processes used to prepare the reinforcement and manufacture the reinforcement cages for the Kazan Metro's tunnel lining. In the workshop, students attended a master class on reinforcement cage tying. They learned that the complete tying of the reinforcement for one BOT-1 precast concrete ring takes 880 minutes, according to standards, and the reinforcement cage for one block consists of 873 components of varying diameters. In the laboratory, students were introduced to the materials quality control and testing system, the laboratory testing procedure, and the importance of adhering to regulatory requirements. A compressive strength test of a B45 concrete sample was conducted specifically for the students, 28 days after production.
In the molding shop the Head of Quality demonstrated the molding and curing process. The shop consists of three bays. The first and third bays are used for molding the lining blocks, while the second bay is used for storing finished BOT-1 and BOT-1.4 products, which are cured for 28 days until they reach strength. The storage capacity for 600 sets is 600.
The tour concluded with the head of the concrete mixing plant (CMP), who described the CMP's components, performance, storage areas for concrete mixes, and the equipment used. The plant visit allowed the students to consolidate the theoretical knowledge they acquired at the university, see the practical application of modern technologies in transport construction, and gain insight into their future profession.
