KSUAE took part in the II International Symposium of the Russian National Committee of ICOMOS
On November 29, 2023, the II International Symposium of the Russian National Committee ICOMOS (International Council for the Preservation of Monuments and Sites of UNESCO) was held at the Moscow Architectural Institute (Moscow).
The International Symposium is the annual final event of the Russian NC ICOMOS with the participation of representatives of government authorities, developers, specialists in the field of restoration and conservation, museum and archaeological design of OKN from different regions of the Russian Federation.
From the Tatarstan branch of NC ICOMOS RUSSIA, the vice-president of NC ICOMOS (Russia), head of the regional branch of NC ICOMOS (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan) R.M. Valeev, member of the Bureau of NC ICOMOS RUSSIA A.G. Sitdikov, members of the Tatarstan branch of NC ICOMOS of Russia Kh.G. Nadyrova and S.G. Persova, director of the museum-reserve "Island-city of Sviyazhsk" A.N. Silkin took part in the Symposium.
The report was made by the President of NC ICOMOS (Russia), First Deputy Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the City of Moscow L.V. Kondrashov. Today, the International Symposium summed up the results of the Year of the Teacher and Tutor, in which great importance was attached to the issues of training professional personnel in the field of preservation and restoration of cultural heritage sites, as well as ethnocultural diversity, cultural identity of the heritage of all peoples and ethnic communities of the country and their integration into the modern life of cities. Within the framework of the symposium, problems of the historical and cultural environment of UNESCO World Heritage sites, issues of placing architectural monuments of 1955 - early 1990s under state protection, and new tasks for the preservation of cultural traditions and historical and cultural monuments were considered.
R.M. Valeev made a report on the topic “Procedural features of the inclusion of cultural heritage sites of Tatarstan in the UNESCO World Heritage List”. An important result of the work of the Russian NC ICOMOS this year was the inclusion in October 2023 of the complex cultural heritage site “Astronomical Observatories of Tatarstan” in the “UNESCO World Heritage List”.
Teachers from the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering (KSUAE) worked on the architectural aspect of the nomination as part of the creative team - Doctor of Architecture, Head of the Department of Russian Academy of Sciences and Architecture Kh.G. Nadyrova and Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Academy of Sciences and Academy of Sciences S.G. Persova.
