KSUAE students became winners of the All-Russian Winter School of Architects

The All-Russian Winter School of Architects was organized as part of the "Future Architects" Youth Project, led by Oskar Arslanov and supported by the Yaroslavl City Hall and the Kaliningrad-based federal developer "Russian Europe." Students from more than 10 Russian regions presented their urban improvement projects to the city administration and professional architects.

KSUAE was represented by Sofia Lapina, a third-year student in the Department of Urban Development and Spatial Planning, and Kamilla Prokopyeva, a fifth-year student in the Department of Theory and Practice of Architecture. The event included site visits, lectures by experts, architects, and curators of spiritual and educational centers, as well as meetings with representatives of local creative communities.

The following Yaroslavl areas were covered: Volzhskaya Embankment, Kirov Street, Sovetskaya Square, Millennium Park, and Lenin Avenue. Following the presentation, the experts singled out the interuniversity team's project for the reconstruction of the Volga Embankment as the most interesting and consistent solution, particularly in terms of the festive decorations. The team included KSUACE students Sofia Lapina and Kamilla Prokopyeva, Anastasia Kovaleva (SFedU), and Olesya Andreeva (YaSTU), with curator Silvia Al Ubed (Yaroslavl).

The area is located on a hill at the confluence of the Volga and Kotorosl rivers and is one of the city's key panoramic points. The project presents a concept for New Year's decoration of the upper tier of the Volga Embankment near the Assumption Cathedral in Yaroslavl, creating a festive atmosphere during the winter season and emphasizing the historical identity of the area, carefully integrating decorative elements into the existing architectural and urban environment. The team's ideas will be incorporated into the detailed design phase of the embankment improvements.
