October 6 is World Architecture Day. Congratulations!
Dear friends,
Today is World Architecture Day! The Kazan School of Architecture, renowned worldwide, was founded at our University almost 65 years ago, and we continue to be its foundation and do much to strengthen its global recognition.
KSUAE is among the leaders in architectural and construction education in Russia, and in international student competitions, it is practically the only university representing our country. For example, in 2024-2025, we won prizes and were recognized in the following international architectural competitions: - Nisshin Kogyo Architecture Competition (Japan), with 400 participants from Canada, Germany, the USA, and Japan; - Dokdo Guesthouse Design Competition (South Korea), with 80 participants from China, Canada, Germany, the USA, the UAE, India, and Mexico; - Student Competition for a Project at an Autism Center (India), with 240 participants from China, Canada, the UAE, and India; - Hyp Cup 2024 competition (China), 420 participants from China, Canada, Germany, the USA, the UAE, and India; - John P. Eberhard Student Design Competition - 170 participants from China, Canada, Germany, the USA, and India. - Anniversary Olympics in Norway - 1,002 participants; - THE BELL TOWER architectural ideas competition (Italy) - participants from Argentina, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, India, and Peru, among others.
And it's no surprise, because they are taught by internationally renowned professors who are the authors and co-authors of unique architectural and urban development projects: - Kul Sharif Mosque, Korston-Kazan; the 37-story residential complex Azure Skies; Baskethall; design concept for Kazan International Airport named after Gabdulla Tukai; the master plan for Naberezhnye Chelny; a sustainable development strategy for the historical settlements of Kazan and Chistopol, and many others. Our students and faculty are doing a lot at the request of organizations, municipalities, and others.
Workshops are held on planning a comfortable urban environment, improving streets, courtyards, and parks (the "Our Yard" program, the Kazan Historical Center, at the request of the "Old Town" prefecture, the Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice, the Kazan State Institute of Culture, the Kazan State Agrarian University, and others).
We are very interested in working with our colleagues from Mariupol – the Priazovsky State Technical University – together we developed and implemented the design of a classroom and the interior design of the Mariupol tourist information center. The students and their managers visited us, and we visited their wonderful university.
Our students and our university are doing a lot of interesting things. Look how wonderful the design of the KSUAE Tsifra-Digital center's locations has become—an entire digital floor!
