Welcome to our new Academic and Research Centers "Heritage" and "Archi-physics"
On February 8, 2022, at KSUAE two new Academic and Research Centers "Heritage" and "Archi-physics" opened their doors. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Kazan city authorities visited our University and the new centers.
The Center for Architectural Restoration "Heritage" was organized to train personnel and provide scientific and methodological support for objects of restoration and preservation of historical heritage. Training is based on both traditional and innovative technologies of architectural restoration, including the use of digital methods and equipment.
The three-level space of the Center houses a multifunctional hall, a design workshop, a library of scientific and methodological literature on restoration, a laboratory for complex research, and a restoration workshop. In the laboratory for complex research the innovative methods of work using digital equipment are introduced: 3D laser scanning, online monitoring of parameters of the physical state of objects using radio and Internet data transmission systems in remote access. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan also visited the workshop of restoration technologies. Here, practical work is carried out with various restoration materials: wood, metal, stone, etc.
In the Center "Archi-physics" the guests got acquainted with the research of microclimate and environment parameters, these are wind loads and the movement of wind flows, temperature and humidity parameters, illumination and insolation, the transmittance of translucent structures, the thermophysical properties of enclosing structures, and also visited the classrooms, the laboratory of architectural physics and the laboratory of acoustics.
At the collegium of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan President of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov noted in his speech: “Today we really liked the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering: new centers, laboratories, they are not only for education, they could be a tool, a mechanism for involving our students in conducting some kind of research for our design and construction companies.”
