On the 7th of March the worldwide ecological action “Earth Hour”, which is aimed to raise the social awareness of ecological and environmental problems, took place.
Our University also participated in this action: within the time period from 20.30 till 21.30 in several KSUAE buildings electrical light was switched off. A few days before that, the students-ecologists from «Green Light»* gave a lecture about their activities, told about the forthcoming world action and called the students not to stay away from environmental problems. In this way, KSUAE actively supports the world community’s aspiration for resource and energy saving behavior and protection of the nature.

«Green Light» is students’ ecological movement organized on the basis of Chemistry and Engineering Ecology Department of KSUAE. It is member of Russian-wide “Green” universities Association, active member of youth environmental movement “It will be clean”, established under the patronage of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatartsan. «Green Light» activists organize and conduct volunteer events on environmental themes at KSUAE campus, in the city of Kazan and in the Republic of Tatarstan.
