Rodrigo Aguirre

Rodrigo Aguirre is a Nicaraguan architect specialized in the fields of parametric tooling, digital fabrication and manufacturing. He obtained his bachelor in architecture at UAM (American University) in Managua (Nicaragua) and completed the Master in Advanced Architecture at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona.
His ongoing collaboration with the Institute’s REsearch + DEvelopment department and IAAC special projects have involved advanced form finding and computational methods related to generative design. In 2013-15 he coordinated international workshops in Brazil and Nicaragua related to digital tooling and participated as faculty in multi-scalar design workshops in Egypt and China.
He is currently involved at IAAC in following educational courses and activities:

Mr. Aguirre visited our University in 2019 when he gave a lecture "Designing the future: Computational design research for self sufficient buildings" as an expert during the Final International Conference held atr our University within the Erasmus+ project «Modernization of the Curriculum in sphere of smart building engineering - Green Building (GREB)».

Michigami Mayu gave lecture on comparative characteristics of the Russian and Japanese housing markets to students and teaching staff of our School of Economics and Construction Industry Management. Ms Michigami spoke about real estate market development in Japan, about her research interests in regard to the study of the Russian economy. In particular, she was interested in our experience in solving the problems of migrant workers and the housing market in our country.
Ms Mayu visited KSUAE two times in 2018 and in 2019 by the invitation of our Associate professor of the Department «Expertise and management of real estate» Ilnur Gareev. She is a member of the editorial board of the journal «Housing Research» edited by the professor.
Stanislava Boshkovich

Stanislava Boshkovich gave lecture on development of a modern city to students and teaching staff of our University in architectural and educational space "BFFT.space" of KSUAE.
Currently, she is engaged in research at the Imperial College London on the use of new tools for the design of cities of the future generation.
She is a guest lecturer at various universities in Western Europe and Russia.
She is an organizer and participant of international seminars and conferences. She speaks 5 languages fluently.

Anna highly appreciated the work and projects of TIArch Studio students and the activities of our teachers Ilnar and Rezeda Akhtyamovs.
Anna supported the work of our University in creating its new academic and research centres and noted the possibility of interdisciplinary internship between specialists.
She spoke to students about her research, the project she is working on, and what they are doing with students at the University of Qatar. The current research of the architect was very interesting for students and teachers, for everyone who came to the lecture.

As a part of the open international competition for the development of the concept and master plan of the eco-district in Kazan jury meeting, architect Stanley Lung of and Moscow architect Vladimir Plotkin visited the architectural and educational space "BFFT.space" of KSUAE.
Colleagues highly appreciated the quality of the educational space, interesting projects of students, and noted the large number of different layouts, excellent work with graphics, hard work of teachers and students who are so conscious about their profession.

Italian Professor Stefano Bertocci was awarded the diploma of Honorary Professor of KSUAE.
Professor Bertocci is a practicing architect in the field of restoration and renovation of architectural heritage objects in many countries, honorary UNESCO expert, Professor of the Department of Architecture, (University of Florence, Italy), head of research lab "Digital technologies in architecture and restoration" of the University of Florence, supervisor of joint international projects of the faculty of Architecture of Florence University and Kazan State University of architecture and Engineering since 2009 based on the cooperation Agreement between the universities.
Throughout the entire period of cooperation, Prof. Bertocci initiated and participant in many joint activities: conferences, workshops, and lectures.

Opening of an exhibition "Bridges of Budapest" took place in architectural and educational space "BFFT.space" of KSUAE. that day is also known as national holiday of Hungary and all-Russia holiday "Road engineering workers' day".
Rector of KSUAE Rashit Nizamov, Consul General of Hungary in Kazan, Adam Stifter, Deputy Minister of transport and road economy of Tatarstan Artyom Chukin, the Vice-rector for research work of Evgeniy Vdovin, Vice-rector on organizational-legal and educational work, David Kardonick, Director of the School of transportation structures Alexey Fomin, Director of the School of architecture and design Karina Nabiullina took part in the ceremony.

Seminar for specialists in field of restoration devoted to "Approaches to the choosing technologies for the preservation of cultural heritage objects" began its work in the architectural and educational space "BFFT.space" of KSUAE.
Seminar was organized by KSUAE, Bernhard Remmers Academy with the support from the Ministry of culture of Tatarstan.
Main speaker of seminar was Franz-Josef Helzen - an independent expert in field of waterproofing, protection of building structures and wood of Oldenburg Business Enterprise (Germany).

Professor Luigi Fiumara, Italian architect, Secretary Of IFMA International Forum of Man and Architecture, Holland, member of Swiss architects Association, honorary Professor of a number of Russian (Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Smolensk, etc.) and CIS (Kiev, Riga, Minsk, etc.) architectural universities, a leader in promoting an organic approach in architectural activities, visited KSUAE.
Series of short lectures, workshops and colloquiums took place in the architectural and educational space "BFFT.space", in children's architectural and design school "DASHKA", and in classrooms of KSUAE School of architecture and design.

Ed Baker, the head of the Broadway Malyan architectural bureau (Singapore), gave an open lecture at BFFT.space of KSUAE.
He came to Kazan to participate in the international conference MES2017 - XI International scientific and practical conference "Modern engineering systems in health architecture" on October 6, 2017.
Ed Baker has extensive experience designing clinics of the future: he designed the National Heart Centre and the Novena Clinic in Singapore.
A lecture by the foreign guest was dedicated to global trends in urban design and planning on specific international examples from Asia, Africa and North America.

Vicente Guayart delivered an inspiring speech for architects in “BFFT.space” of KSUAE.
On June 15, 2017, the architect Vicente Guayart, a former chief architect of Barcelona, one of the founders of the famous architectural school iAAc in Barcelona, told the students of KSUAE and numerous guests about his work.
His bold views, decisive actions, completed projects, teaching activities can inspire young specialists for professional development.
Based on his own experience, Vicente spoke about the principles he adheres to, that cities should be primarily focused on people, on pedestrian connections. During his tenure as a chief architect, with the support of the mayor of the city of Barcelona, he made significant changes in urban planning of the city.
Moreover, Vicente Guayart told about his great attention to prototyping while his pedagogical experience in laboratories of mixed disciplines.

The 5th International Conference "Cultural Heritage in the XXI Century" was highlighted by the presence of UNESCO-ICOMOS expert Alkiviadis Prepis. On April 3-7, 2017, in architectural and educational space “BFFT.space” of KSUAE, he participated and was a headliner of the V International Scientific and Practical Conference "Cultural Heritage in the XXI Century: Preservation, Use, Popularization".
Professor Alkiviadis Prepis introduced a very informative and beautifully illustrated presentation on the topic "Preservation and sustainable development of traditional settlements in the context of tourism development and employment promotion: values yesterday, today and tomorrow" about the experience of revitalizing empty buildings in Greece.
Sergei Tchoban

Sergei Tchoban - a well-known architect in Russia and Europe, the head of SPEECH and Nps Tchoban Voss workshops, the founder of the charity fund for Architectural Drawing - Tchoban Foundation Museum for Architectural Drawing (Berlin) - visited architectural and educational space “BFFT.space” of KSUAE.
He saw many projects by students while international competitions, in some of them he was a member of an award panel. Sergei Tchoban enthusiastically commented on the projects by young specialists of Kazan; he also gladly agreed to give a lecture early next year!
Sergey Tchoban visited BFFT.space together with the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Fayzullin, the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Nataliya Fishman, the Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Kudryashev.

An outstanding architect Fabio Panzeri discussed the experience of creating a comfortable urban environment at KSUAE.
A discussion with an architect Fabio Panzeri (Milan, Italy) took place at BFFT.space (KSUAE) on October 24, 2016 as a part of the federal project “Urban Environment” of the Russian political party United Russia, which is coordinated in the Republic of Tatarstan by the rector of KSUAE Rashit Nizamov. The participants analyzed the applicability of best practices to the urban environment of Kazan using the example of the architect’s projects including the Congress Center and the building of an elementary school in Geneva (Switzerland), the reconstruction of city squares, residential buildings and adjoining territories in Italian cities. The event was attended by the moderator of the discussion the rector of KSUAE Rashit Nizamov, young architects, students and graduates of KSUAE, the representatives of Ministry of Architecture, Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Republic of Tatarstan, large construction companies, State Unitary Enterprise “TatInvestGrazhdanProekt”, “Ak Bars Development”, “Unistroy” and others, the companies which consider relevant the issue of “new” Kazan and trends in architectural design.

On July 21, 2016, the developers of the feasibility study and the concept of the master plan of Kazan financial district - representatives of the Russian-Malaysian consortium (Islamic business and Finance development Fund (IBFD Fund) and APUDG (AJM Planning and Urban Design Group Sdn Bhd), and numerous experts, gathered in the conference hall of KSUAE. aide to RT President Olesya Baltusova, Deputy Minister of construction, architecture and housing of Tatarstan Vladimir Kudryashov, chief architect of Kazan Tatyana Prokofieva, representatives of state structures, management and teachers of KSUAE, directors of companies interested in the project participated in discussion.
Agreement on the master plan concept development between the consortium and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan was signed in 2016 at the meeting of RT government executive Ildar Khalikov with President of Fund of development of Islamic business and Finance, Linar Yakupov, managing Director and architect of the APUDG, Norliza Hashim and trade attaché of the Embassy of Malaysia in the Russian Federation, representative of the Malaysian development Corporation of foreign trade (MATRADE) MD. During her visit to our University she gave series of seminars for students of Kazan universities and specialists in the field of architecture dedicated to preservation of the cultural heritage of the Republic of Tatarstan.
After several meetings at KSUAE, including meetings with the State Councilor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, prof. Britta Rudolff came up with proposal to develop an international dual master's degree program "Heritage Management", Brandenburg Technical University (Germany) - KSUAE.

As part of his trip Mr. Peñalosa visited our University and gave his lecture devoted to "Development of the social and transport infrastructure of the megalopolis "Ideal city".
Representatives of Kazan wards, design offices and workshops, management of capital construction and renovation, traffic committee and other ministries and bodies were invited to participate in the event. Faculty and students of our University attended the lecture as well.
The presentation evoked a great interest and a response from the audience.

Seminar of the Danish architect Jan Gehl "Cities for people: world experience of effective public spaces design" was held at KSUAE as part of "Tatarstan socio-economic development Strategy. 2030".
Representatives of government institutions, design agencies, creative workshops and architectural bureaus, educational and scientific institutions, teaching staff and students of our university took part in the seminar. It should be noted that seminar was a great success.
Jan Gehl talked about the experience of designing urban spaces in his hometown of Copenhagen and many other successful projects in London, New York, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, etc.
The main massage was: "We want to live in comfortable, sustainable, healthy cities!", this is exactly what the architect Jan Gehl and his architectural and urban planning Bureau GehlArchitects (Denmark) are working on. The speaker paid great attention to the development of Cycling culture in urban centers, as it has been happening recently in Copenhagen.
