A traditional meeting with KSUAE international students
The KSUAE International Relations Department, organized an annual meeting with international students. The meeting centered on a lecture on the social adaptation of international students comprising such issues like: the fundamentals of Russian legislation; the rules and norms of behavior accepted in Russian society; forms of interaction with government agencies and local governments; the status and rights of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation and migration registration rules; access to government services in the migration, social, and information spheres; liability for offenses related to the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances; liability for participation in and assistance to terrorist and extremist activity, and incitement of social, racial, national, and religious hatred; the negative consequences of joining various informal youth groups and radical organizations; and interethnic conflicts and ways to resolve them.
The students listened to the lecture with interest and asked numerous questions on the topics discussed. KSUAE holds regular meetings with international students on adaptation issues. Adapting international students to the conditions of study at a Russian university is one of the university's key areas of work. The social and cultural adaptation program is implemented to help foreign citizens overcome social isolation, establish social relationships that facilitate conflict-free coexistence in Russian society, and ensure national and public security.
The event also served as a platform for exchanging opinions and discussing current issues related to student life at the university and dormitory living. KSUAE International Relations Office also informed students about current changes in immigration legislation starting in the new academic year, as well as deadlines for submitting documents for registration and visa issue. They also discussed student academic performance and upcoming cultural and educational events.
