As part of the celebration of Russia Day, Kazan annually hosts the traditional Friendship of Nations Parade — a very colorful event that gathers several thousand people with tricolors in their hands. The holiday usually takes place in the Kazan Kremlin, where representatives of more than 50 different nationalities and ethnic groups living in Tatarstan and Kazan gather to demonstrate the richness of their cultures in painted national costumes.
KSUAE International students from Chad, Mauritania, Morocco, Benin, Zambia, Mali joined the participants of the Friendship of Nations Parade, took part in all the events of the holiday, dressed in national costumes. The students noted the friendly atmosphere of the event and the importance of the opportunity to present their culture far from their homeland.
The procession began on May 1 Square and inside the Kremlin and ended with a large round dance and a concert. The participants joined hands, symbolizing national unity, sang folk songs, including the Russian anthem, noting the cultural diversity and unity that characterizes modern Russia.
This holiday has become a vivid expression of how in Tatarstan, where 175 nationalities live, the traditions and culture of all peoples are respected and preserved. The event is aimed at strengthening the friendship and unity of the multinational youth of Tatarstan through interaction, dialogue of cultures and good neighborliness.
