KSUAE Faculty Members Study China's Urban Planning Experience

Associate Professors from the Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Development at the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering (KSUAE) are currently completing an advanced training program in the People's Republic of China.

The primary host institution is Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT). During their visit, KSUAE faculty members are exploring best practices in urban agglomeration development, territorial planning, and urban heritage preservation. Professor Zhang Pei and a research team from the School of Architecture shared insights with their colleagues from Tatarstan on the formation and management of urban agglomerations in China. As part of this knowledge exchange, KSUAE representatives also presented their own research to Chinese partners, focusing on urban planning documentation and the development of urban agglomerations in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The program is comprehensive, featuring visits to leading specialized institutions, including Tsinghua University, the Chinese Academy of Urban Planning and Design, and urban planning centers in Xi'an, Beijing, and Tianjin. Furthermore, the faculty members will examine development strategies for the Guanzhong Plain and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regions.

This program aims to strengthen KSUAE's international partnerships and facilitate the adaptation of global best practices to support future territorial development in Tatarstan.
