KSUAE Young scientists completed a research internship at Northeastern University of China

Assistants from the KSUAE Department of Digital Road Technologies, Karina Khuziakhmetova and Bulat  Khusaenov, completed a research internship at Northeastern University (NEU) in Shenyang. The internship was funded by the Algarysh grant and aimed at developing competencies in the field of subway construction and design technology for urban development.

During the internship, the project team participated in the International Academic Conference on Underground Energy Storage and Intelligent Technologies, where they presented papers on the construction of underground structures, tunnels, and subways, as well as the application of intelligent technologies in underground construction.

An important practical component of the program included a visit to the construction site of China Railway No. 3 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., a company engaged in subway construction. Participants were shown the main stages of tunnel construction, the use of tunnel boring machines, and quality control and safety management.

KSUAE faculty also visited the campuses, laboratories, and Department of Tunneling and Underground Construction at North-Eastern University. As part of the internship, they tested reinforced concrete samples used in metro construction, providing practical experience with modern laboratory equipment.

The final stage of the internship was a presentation on KSUAE's internationally recognized research and educational centers. The presentation generated considerable interest from graduate students and professors at the host university, who inquired about opportunities for further scientific collaboration and joint research. The internship contributed to strengthening international scientific ties and expanding KSUAE's cooperation with leading foreign universities in the fields of construction and underground infrastructure.
