Heads of scientific and design and construction organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited KSUAE

On October 5, 2022, as part of the II International Construction Championship, a meeting was held at KSUAE with the heads of the Committee for Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the heads of the Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture JSC.

During the meeting, issues of interaction in the field of education and research activities between KSUAE and organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed.

The guests were shown the scientific and educational centers of KSUAE “Roads”, “Strength”, “Digital”, “Basics”, “BFFT.space”, “Systems”, “Technologies”, “Urban Planning”, “Heritage”, “Architectural physics". The guests highly appreciated the instrument base, scientific and innovative developments of KSUAE scientists and the creative approach in the implementation of unique projects to create spaces at the university that correspond to the international level. They noted the importance of the practice-oriented approach of the university, implemented in the learning process, and the active participation in the scientific support of the construction industry of KSUAE staff.

KSUAE Architecture school at the Lisbon Triennial of Architecture: exposition at the world-class architecture festival 

The Lisbon Triennial of Architecture is an important event in the architectural world, which is held every three years in the capital of Portugal - Lisbon - and attracts tens of thousands of spectators.The Triennial brings together professionals from all over the world to discuss topical issues and the latest achievements in the field of architecture, the best architectural bureaus and workshops, as well as the best architectural schools in the world, are represented here.

To select the participants of the exhibition, an open international competition of student projects was held, in which leading architectural schools from all over the world took part, but only 6 applications were selected! This is an application from architectural schools: Bartlett (Great Britain), Harvard (USA), Bergen School of Architecture (Norway), Munster University of Technology (Ireland) and Studio Tiarch KSUAE (Russia)!

The 2022 Triennial is being held for the 6th time and is held under the theme Terra - "Earth". The Triennale program consists of four exhibitions, four books, three awards, three days of conferences and a selection of independent projects. The Triennial 2022 explores how global ways of human interaction with the environment are changing: taking into account climate problems, pressure on natural resources, socio-economic and environmental inequalities. Through the exchange of knowledge and practices, the Lisbon Triennale 2022 proposes to re-evaluate the architectural paradigm from a linear growth model (“cities as machines”) to a cyclical evolutionary model (“cities as organisms”). The Triennial showcases ambitious projects and development strategies - realized and conceptual - and invites architects, artists, designers and engineers to a productive discussion.

This year, for the first time, an open competition of student projects has been held at the Lisbon Triennial. Thus, the works of students-architects of KSUAE were selected for the exhibition "Visionaries". A team of students prepared the "Form Time / Time Form" display case. It is dedicated to the author's methodology for teaching visionary architects, which was developed by the architect-teacher of KSUAE, the founder of the Tiarch studio Ilnar Akhtyamov. The exposition of the studio includes hand-made graphic and layout materials, the exposition is presented at the cultural center Culturgest in Lisbon. In addition, the works of KSUAE students are covered in two essays in the Triennial collection: on the topics of the future of manual graphics (“Drawing at the Speed ​​of Thought”) and organic design methods.

The exposition presented by the KSUAE Tiarch studio was the result of a long and painstaking work, starting from the moment the idea for the application for the competition was formed (January 2022), through several stages of discussions and reviews of developments with the curators of the exhibition to the final materials of the exposition, flying a long way to its destination.

The Lisbon Triennial of Architecture runs until December and is open to all who are interested, as well as the public Talk! Talk! Talk!, which will take place at the end of October.

Welcome Day at KSUAE for prospective students

On October 2, 2022, KSUAE gathered about 500 guests for the Open Day. The university was visited by future secondary school graduates and their parents who wish to get to know the University better and make the most important choice in life: who to become and where to go to study?

The guests came from Kazan, cities and regions of Tatarstan, neighboring republics, cities of Russia. The organizers prepared a wide program for them with a tour of scientific and educational centers, acquaintance with the areas of training, the student program and the official part in the Aula Magna.

Directors of institutes, heads of centers, heads of departments introduced the guests to the equipment of the centers, laboratory equipment and technology, and also spoke about innovative developments in architecture, construction, road transport, areas of training at the institutes of KSUAE, answered questions.

The Rector, doctor of technical sciences, professor Rashit Nizamov greeted the guests and told them about the University. He told the guests about the latest achievements of students and teachers of KSUAE in educational and research activities, the real work that is carried out by the university staff in the framework of major projects in the Republic of Tatarstan and beyond, interesting and eventful student life.

Again KSUAE gained the main award in the competition of the degree projects in the area "Construction" in Russia!

On September 29, 2022, a competition of degree final projects 2022 was held at Master level in the specilaty 08.04.01 "Construction" and at BSc level in the specialty 08.05.01 "Construction of unique buildings and structures" for the medal of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences named after N.V. Nikitin.

The competition is organized by the Association of Construction Universities (ACV) together with the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences (RAACS). This competition is a kind of superfinal, in which not only the best works that take first places in their training profiles particpate, but only those works that have scored the highest points in the overall standings in the enlarged group of areas "Engineering and Construction Technologies". Last time KSUAE also took the first award in the same competition which is held once every three years. According to the rules of the competition, the jury determines only one winner among all the submitted works.

In addition to projects from KSUAE, 10 best projects took part in the competition from different Russian Universities.

This year the project winner is "Development of energy-efficient symmetrical tees to reduce the energy consumption of ventilation systems", author - Guzel Safiullina , supervisor - doctor of technical sciences, professor Ziganshin A.M.
